SUPMICROTECH-ENSMM at the cutting edge of mechanical micro-manufacturing

During your training, you will learn to use modern, innovative technologies in the areas of micro-manufacturing and electronics.

The school will allow you to access and use the Microtechnology Pilot Workshop. You will be able to try out new manufacturing and micro-manufacturing possibilities for microtechnology components and systems (laser ablation machining, ultra-thin wire spark erosion, high-speed micro-milling, and injection or hot-stamp micro-moulding, etc.).

Training that is theorical but also highly practical

Micro-manufacturing

During your practicals you will have access to very high-tech technologies in the areas of manufacturing and micro-manufacturing processes.

Designing

You will use different types of equipments in the framework of sessions supervised by teachers assisted by technical personnel.

Prototyping

You will also have to design and make prototypes in a much more autonomous way in the framework of third-year projects.

Unique technological resources

The mechanical micro-manufacturing workshop

The mechanical micro-manufacturing workshop is dedicated to teaching and student projects.
This workshop is used for the students’ practicals and for making prototypes in the framework of partner platform projects or third-year option projects.
The projects validated by the supervisor are carried out by the students with the support of an Assistant Engineer and a Technician.

S.MART platform

The S.MART platform is the new name given to Besançon’s AIP Priméca (Inter-Establishments Production Workshop and IT Resources Centre for Mechanics).
The S.MART cluster pools the skills and resources in the areas of integrated mechanical and robotics design at the service of teaching, research and industry. The Besançon site has rapid prototyping and robotics facilities in particular.
The projects validated by the supervisor are carried out by the students with the support of a Design Engineer and a Technical Assistant.

Mifhysto platform

The MIFHySTO platform (micro-manufacturing for the miniaturisation functionalisation and hybridisation of micro-technical systems and tooling).

The MIFHySTO (micro-manufacturing for the miniaturisation, functionalisation and hybridisation of micro-technical systems and tooling) platform places a pooled technological resources centre in the area of micro-manufacturing at the disposal of its partner establishments and their personnel.
This pooled resource platform has a threefold mission: to provide experimentation support for research, teaching and development.
